What is classified as 'abject' has been fiercely contested due to the self questioning that it facilitates. Defined as completely without pride or dignity the ‘abject’ is deeply personal, often manifesting through lived experience and shaped by cultural perspectives. The theme of the ‘abject’ provides a uniting undertow in (A) Mild Inconvenience, exploring value, disposability, resurrection, invasion, utility and sympathy.
