Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon
Only around 20% of biographies on Wikipedia are about women—and equity groups across STEM remain underrepresented. This Diversity Festival, join UNSW Science and Wikimedia Australia to help change that.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to edit Wikipedia, add missing information, and create new pages that highlight the contributions of diverse scientists and their discoveries. Wikimedia Australia’s Programs Coordinator will guide you through the basics, with experienced volunteer editors on hand to support you along the way.
No experience? No problem. We’ll provide training, a list of STEM changemakers to get you started—and pizza to keep you fuelled. Everyone is welcome to take part in this initiative to make STEM more visible, inclusive, and representative online.
