Join Dr Sonu Bhaskar for a conversation about day-to-day life as a clinician scientist, academic neurologist and innovator moving between Liverpool Hospital, the Ingham Institute and UNSW Sydney.

What happens when there is a bleeding in the brain or a brain artery is blocked? Meet “Stroke”! Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability in Australia. Join in a live conversation with Dr Sonu Bhaskar on how to recognise stroke symptoms, latest breakthroughs in acute stroke treatment, and the importance of rapid access to time-critical therapies.

After the talk stay for an origami making craft session. Origami is the art of paper folding that has been in practice since the 1600s. It can help develop coordination and memory.

This free event is part of Inspiring Australia’s Talking Science library speaker series for Sydney Science Festival in National Science Week.
