UNSW Medicine will host an International Women’s Day event to raise awareness of the importance of a gender equal world. This year’s UN theme for the IWD is “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.
Join this panel event moderated by Dr Chantelle Ahlenstiel and Dr Shafagh Waters as they speak to fabulous women about how they are leading the charge to build a more sustainable gender equal future in academia.
The event brings together UNSW Medicine and Health staff members (both academic and professional) and alumni to focus on the great contribution of women. Guests include:
An exhibition that traces humanity's evolving understanding of the cosmos, from ancient stargazers to modern astronomers, showcasing the interwoven roles of scientific observation and cultural interpretation.
The Madjawa Maangi exhibition explores Indigenous cultural health — the interconnectedness between people and Country through culture. The exhibition is inspired by the creation story of the seagull who brings the pippi from saltwater to freshwater Country, reflecting the importance of sharing knowledge, skills, and resources.
