UNSW Inclusive Science Series
Hosted by Associate Professor Brendan Burns, this hybrid event will discuss a new collaboration between First Nation Gamay Rangers and UNSW ecologists to restore endangered Posidonia seagrass beds in Gamay Botany Bay.
This research project was designed to foster collaboration and combine Indigenous knowledge and science to better understand our marine environment and develop meaningful and sustainable environmental solutions. The panel will highlight the importance of these collaborative efforts in the field of sustainable science. Joining Brendan will be Professor Adriana Vergés and First Nation Gamay Rangers Robert Cooley and Bryce Liddell.
In alignment with the Science Strategy and University 2025 Strategy, the Inclusive Science Series aims to highlight the UN Sustainable Development goals related to each project discussed. This panel will include topics covering SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 14 (Life Below Water), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
