Discussing critical questions around increasing reliance on Al and the future of work, world-leading Al expert Dr Sue Keay unpacks the foundations and implications of the Al race. The session will be introduced and moderated by Michelle Gordon, Director of the Centre for Ideas and Strategic Events,Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement at UNSW.
Speakers
Dr Sue Keay is Director of the UNSW Al Institute and founder of the Robotics Australia Group, the nation's peak robotics industry body. She is widely recognised as a leading expert in robotics, artificial intelligence and automation. Drawing on a background in science and extensive experience across research, industry and government, Dr Keay specialises in translating cutting-edge technologies into practical solutions, helping organisations harness innovation to solve complex challenges and drive economic and social impact.
Michelle Gordon is Director of the Centre for Ideas (UNSW Sydney) and Co-curator of UNSW House. A strategic communications leader, she has more than 30 years’ experience spanning media, higher education, arts and culture, business, and the not-for-profit sector in Australia and the UK. Michelle has led distinctive partnerships with organisations including Sydney Writers’ Festival and the Museum of Contemporary Art and created innovative commissions with Punchdrunk and United Visual Artists. In the UK, she oversaw Virgin Media’s communications and led the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.
