Real-world research from the NSW Tertiary Referral Service for Psychosis
Associate Professor Julia Lappin is the Clinical Director of the NSW Tertiary Referral Service for Psychosis. She is an Associate Professor at UNSW Discipline of Psychiatry and Mental Health and at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre. Her clinical and research endeavours focus on improving outcomes for people living with psychotic illness.
As Clinical Director to the Tertiary Referral Service for Psychosis, Associate Professor Julia Lappin has led a body of clinical research examining real-world care provision in Australian public mental health services. This broad scope of work is described, including:
• research on the effective use of pharmacological and psychological treatments,
• translation of cognitive remediation therapy into mental health practice, and
• metabolic health and the microbiome in people living with psychotic illness.
