Join UNSW Medicine & Health, Kirby Institute and The George Institute for Global Health as we proudly celebrate NAIDOC Week 2026 – '50 Years of Deadly' on Wednesday, 29 July.
This special event honours the strength, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples over five decades, while recognising the important role of community, knowledge and leadership in shaping the future of health and wellbeing.
We are honoured that Aunty Lola Ryan from the La Perouse community will provide a Welcome to Country. Aunty Lola is a mother and grandmother and an Aboriginal Health Worker for the Child and Family Health Team of the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, a position she has held for 20 years.
On the day, you can expect:
A Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony
An engaging panel discussion featuring Indigenous leaders and voices
Opportunities to connect, learn and reflect
