From Laptop to Live: The 48-Hour Ship Clinic (Pitch Comp Edition)

In this hands-on clinic, you’ll learn how to take your app from your laptop to the internet—using a real domain, real users, and real payments.

Most student projects die on localhost, not because the idea is bad, but because the technical last mile is a nightmare. If you’re applying to the CompSci Pitch Comp, you can’t pitch a project that only works on your laptop—judges need something they can actually click.

What we’ll do (fast, practical, hands-on):

• The “Live” check: move your app to a real URL

• The padlock: set up HTTPS so your demo doesn’t show “Not Secure”

• The backend logic: sanity-check auth, data, and payments flows

• Professional architecture: leave with production-grade schemas/maps you can use in your pitch

How it works:
This isn’t a lecture. Bring your laptop and your messiest code. We’ll use Zorentia to generate a personalised, step-by-step roadmap for your project, with a facilitator on-site to help you debug and deploy in real time.

What you’ll leave with:

• A live deployment strategy (AWS/domains/SSL)

• A system architecture map for your pitch
