Professor of Practice in Disability at UNSW, former Disability Discrimination Commissioner, and Royal Commissioner. Profoundly deaf, Alastair brings expertise in disability rights and systemic reform, with a focus on implementing the findings of the Disability Royal Commission to enhance inclusion.
Australian artist whose abstract and figurative work reflects her unique perspective. She studied Fine Art and Graphic Design, and her film “Angie” was a Tropfest finalist in 2015. Her art has been exhibited widely and recognised in major national prizes. Angie also works as an Artist Educator, creating inclusive programs for Deaf and hard of hearing audiences at Museum of Contemporary Art and Art Gallery of NSW.
Auslan educator, Interpreter, and Instructional Designer with over 14 years of experience at TAFE and Deaf Connect. As a trans and non-binary activist, they use their personal journey to advocate for inclusion and awareness. Dion designs learning experiences that centre Auslan as a tool for connection and empowerment. They envision a world where Auslan is part of everyday life, bridging Deaf and hearing communities.
Koori academic and Research Affiliate at the University of Sydney’s Centre for Disability Research and Policy. Rodney’s work centres on Indigenous Sign Languages and the lived experiences of deaf Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with groundbreaking contributions to education, health, and cultural preservation.
