We are delighted to announce the winners of this prestigious Prize presented by UNSW, NeuRA and Black Dog Institute.
The awards will be presented by the Hon Emma McBride MP, Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and the ceremony will be chaired by Sophie Scott OAM.
The presentation will also feature an address by the 2026 Senior Australian of the Year, Scientia Professor Henry Brodaty AO, a globally renowned dementia researcher.

The Australian Mental Health Prize recognises Australians who have made outstanding contributions to either the promotion of mental health, or the prevention/treatment of mental illness – in areas such as advocacy, research or service provision.

Henry Brodaty is a researcher, clinician, policy advisor and strong advocate for people with dementia and their carers.
He is a Scientia Professor of Ageing and Mental Health, and Co-Director of the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA) and a key member of the Advisory Board for the Australian Mental Health Prize.
He has published extensively, is a senior psychogeriatrician at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney and serves on multiple committees for the New South Wales and Australian governments and WHO.
He is the 2026 Senior Australian of the Year.
